Kimball A. Johnson, MD
Dr. Kimball Johnson is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is also Board Certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and is a graduate of the Hippocrates Health Institute Life Change program. A 1987 cum laude graduate of the Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Johnson also holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Taylor University, where she studied exercise physiology and biomechanics. She began her medical career after college as a paramedic at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Johnson is a Certified HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine, and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. She has participated in numerous professional medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the Southern Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, and the American Medical Women’s Association. She is also a Diplomate of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Internal Medicine. She was a founding member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine and is a Physician Investigator for the AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta.
An avid runner and cyclist, Dr. Johnson was a Team Physician for the American College of Sports Medicine and served as a physician for the 1995 Ironman Triathlon World Championship. She was Physician Coordinator for the Peachtree Road Race Medical Team from 1997-2007 and was a volunteer physician for the U.S. Olympic Training Center in 1999.
Dr. Johnson loves to grow organic foods and sprouts in her garden at home with her life partner and seven dogs. Her alternate escape is hiking in the North Georgia mountains with all four Chocolate Labrador Retrievers.
Stacy Arens-Sorlie, MPAS, PA-C
We are very excited to welcome Stacy Arens-Sorlie, MPAS, PA-C to the Midtown West Medical family! Stacy earned her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and is also a magna cum laude graduate of the Physician Assistant Program at Midwestern University and earned a BS in Nutritional Science at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She has been working in the healthcare field for 12+ years, having most recently served as a Physician Assistant at Northwestern Specialists for Women in Chicago, and recently returned from a volunteer service trip in Ghana, Africa.
Suzanne Combs, RN
Suzanne Combs, RN is the Practice Manager of Midtown West Medical. She has worked in the healthcare field in Atlanta since 1980. In addition to her previous experience as an Infusion Nurse and Practice Manager for a private practice, she has worked as an Infusion Nurse Manager and served as the Director of Clinical Services and as Hospice Care Manager for Kimberly Quality Care/American Hospice. She has also cared for chemotherapy, hematology, and surgical patients as a Staff Nurse in ambulatory and hospital settings.
Suzanne received her Nursing Diploma from the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. She is a member of the Georgia Nurses Association and the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, and has been active in raising funds and awareness for AIDS, leukemia, and heart disease. Suzanne volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and Hosea Feed the Homeless. She is a devoted wife and mother. Her daughter got married at the beach in 2006 and has now given Suzanne her first grandchild – a girl, Ansley Lawson Middlebrooks. Her son has finished college and is back home working. She also enjoys walking, horseback riding, gardening, traveling and spending time with Ansley.
